🤔
With so many products available today, from keychains to coffee mugs, one may wonder if the popularity of their business comes from the products they list, or the design idea behind it.
Print on demand (POD) services such as Printify, for example, allow you to Launch Your Store for free, integrating a marketplace account you likely already have, such as Amazon, Etsy etc. With several product types already conveniently offered to its merchants, you can turn a blank canvas into a work of art - yes you! and even build yourself a brand more will discover!
The question lies in whether a shopper's interest is more in simply what product they are looking for, or perhaps the design on that product. Well, they likely want or need the product they are searching for to begin with, but what draws them in further comes from a message from the creative design or logo behind that product. Anyone can simply purchase a mousepad, but what if that mousepad had sentimental value, a message or photo on it that drew the shopper in? Maybe it was a call-to-action, a quote, a motivational, funny saying. Honing in on a subject that interests your customer will deepen that connection to the product itself they were initially searching for. Is your customer an animal lover, a traveler, food and drink enthusiast? Whatever it may be, focusing your design to a niche topic will not only help customers feel you're the specialist in that subject, but can build their sense of trust in you as they see you share the same passion for that niche as they do. Ask yourself what makes you the pro on the subject and what subject is it people are looking after?
Ultimately nothing feels better than a satisfied and returning customer to your business and whatever your passion also lies in, keep doing it and do it well because you care and want to share! Happy designing and selling! Feel free to engage and share your thoughts...
